Ange Branca is rebuilding the vision of Saté Kampar, her critically-acclaimed Malaysian restaurant, via two new fundraising campaigns. She is hoping to bring back the restaurant at a location just off South Street, but needs more capital to make that happen.
There’s plenty of perks for GoFundMe or Kickstarter funders. Help if you can!
According to the GoFundMe:
Saté Kampar was the first South East Asian restaurant in Philadelphia to be nominated for a James Beard Award. We had to shut down our location on East Passyunk Ave in the middle of the pandemic. We were so very sad to leave the space we built from scratch; every inch of which told the story of where we come from and reflected a memory lost in time. Our restaurant was open for 4.5 years, and we enjoyed sharing our food and culture with all of you. We loved every minute of it.
According to the Kickstarter:
Since 2016, we have enjoyed creating a space where diversity can come together to eat, a place that means community, that adds color to the fabric of Philadelphia, a place where memories are created, times celebrated and moments shared. We started Muhibbah Dinner Series, a charity dinner series to raise funds for non-profit organizations in Philadelphia working with immigrants and refugees.
