West Philly’s The Farmacy Adds 2nd Location in Palmyra, NJ

The Farmacy in West Philly has opened a second location across the bridge at 307 W. Broad Street in Palmyra, NJ because owners Chef Ross Scofield and Danielle Coulter recently moved to the area. When the Riverline Cafe closed, they jumped on the spot because they wanted to offer something this area doesn’t have; or doesn’t have enough of — local, organic farm-to-table cuisine.

They did some renovating inside such as replacing the floors, painting, replacing the equipment, and various other cosmetic changes such as adding artwork, chalkboards, and decorative touches. It’s definitely brighter and seemingly less cramped inside than when it was the Riverline Cafe.

There are seats for 26 inside and they are working on getting approval for outdoor seating. The kitchen is wide open and there is a counter with diner bar stools where you can see all of the cooking action including a sous chef hand-cutting fresh potatoes for french fries.

The Palmyra restaurant specializing in local comfort food soft opened last week and are open for normal business hours Tuesday through Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 8 p.m. for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and brunch on the weekends.

Most of what they serve is made in-house including bread, biscuits, butter, jam, pickled items, fresh juices, house-made sausage, smoked wings, and chickens, etc. All of the produce is locally sourced. Any products that are not able to be found locally are non-GMO, organic, and sustainable.

Fresh biscuits made in-house daily are perfection when slathered in house-made crème brûléed butter and mango jam.

The Brunch menu is everything I could ask for and more. Classic comforting dishes such as Eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros are offered next to Chicken & Waffles, Shrimp & Grits, and an indulgent 4 Egg Country Skillet with veggies, Cabot cheddar cheese, and duck fat fried potatoes! Or you may want to satisfy your sweet tooth with Peach Cobbler Pancakes or Philadelphia Cream Cheese & Berry Compote Stuffed French Toast! Can’t wait to go back to try everything.

A variety of hot sandwiches are offered including a breakfast sandwich. We opted for the Ultimate Grilled Cheese with tomato and bacon and Salmon BLT with peppercorn ranch on a pretzel roll. Both were served with hand-cut fries which were a bit too soft and oily for my liking, but the sandwiches were absolutely outstanding.

We’re stoked to have The Farmacy just a couple miles from our house in South Jersey doing amazing farm-to-table cuisine. We plan on going back for dinner real soon! While they’re not advertising it as such, it is BYOB. I noticed another table had brought their own six-pack of beer. We will definitely take a nice bottle of wine when we go for dinner.
