BurgerFi served a brand-new sandwich concept for the first time in its history! The awesome new Chicken Avocado BLT was launched on July 2nd, 2018. As with all of their food offerings, they make the sandwich made-to-order with meats that are fresh and never frozen.
I was recently invited to try out the new sandwich and experience other amazing food offerings that they have on their menu. But back to that delicious sandwich; there was a sweet and tangy dressing that I could not place, which turns out it was a delectable combination of honey mustard and barbeque sauce. That sauce was layer on top of the fresh lettuce, tomato, and crispy bacon. Below that was an interesting twist to serving up avocado on a bun—they fry it in panko bread crumbs, containing the mild, creamy topping in a crispy shell, so as you bite into it, it is like a extra special treat. Next the bountiful bun is layered with a mild white cheddar that melts onto the fresh chicken breast with some more of that wonderful sauce.
I was delighted to try out this tasty sensation, and I recommend that you try it too!
Biting into the sandwich allowed for a variety of flavors and textures on my palate. And as I indulged in a bun with their namesake seared into it, my mouth was met with the soft bun, sweet and tangy sauce, juicy tomato, savory and crisp bacon, the creamy and mild flavor of the avocado with its crisp outer shell, then into the gooey melted cheese and juicy chicken breast.
Everything about this sandwich was wonderful, and I was lucky enough to also taste their fresh-cut French fries. An added bonus is that you can choose whatever topping you wish to; I choose their Cajun spice topping which had a lot of flavor and left some heat lingering on my tongue.
Another happy surprise was to find out that you can also order a beer with your meal—that’s right, you heard me: a fast-casual dining establishment that serves beers on-tap! So as I ate my delicious meal, I could wash it down with my frothy SummerLove Ale from Victory Brewing Company.
Afterwards I brought my meal full-circle by having one of their chocolate milkshakes, which was adorned with whipped cream and sprinkles, and on a day as hot as this one—it is such a great treat!
If you are in center city Philadelphia, be sure to stop by their BurgerFi location on 12th and Arch streets. And in time with July 4th, they will be open all day until 11pm! For every Chicken Avocado BLT sold you will also be donating $1 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
