Complimentary Cuba Libre Cocktail at Old City’s Cuba Libre

Fidel Castro died on Friday. Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar will be the first Cuban restaurant to recognize (let’s not say celebrate) the death of the iconic despot with a complimentary cocktail promotion.

Located at 10 S. 2nd Street in Old City, they will offer a complimentary Cuba Libre cocktail (rum and coke) to guests during Happy Hour for the nine days leading up to Castro’s funeral on December 4.

Say “VIVA CUBA” for complimentary Cuba Libre at Cuba Libre Philadelphia

Guests must mention “VIVA CUBA” to the bartender during Happy Hour from 5 to 7 p.m. beginning today, 11/26 and continuing until 12/4. The restaurant’s Happy Hour menu will be available throughout this special promotion, as well, including discounts on empanadas, ceviche and other signature tapas items.

The complimentary Cuba Libre promotion is limited to one cocktail per person per day until 12/4, and the restaurant encourages guests to engage in political discussion and discourse in recognition of Fidel Castro’s death. Televisions at the bar will air news coverage of Castro’s death throughout the Happy Hour, with closed captioning available.
