With talk of restaurants closing down, there are some that are holding on strong. This month, both Amada and Estia Restaurants are celebrating 10 years of being open in Philadelphia. To commemorate, they are offering special tasting menus. Here are the details of each celebration.
Amada Inspired Anniversary Tasting menus at Garces Group Restaurants offered October 11-16
From Sunday, October 11-Friday, October 16, Amada Restaurant, Tinto, Distrito, Garces Trading Company and The Olde Bar will all offer a $39 tasting menu in addition to their regular a la carte menu. The tasting menus include a complimentary glass of sangria or punch.
$4 from each tasting menu goes to the Garces Foundation. The Garces Foundation is an IRS registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to ensuring that Philadelphia’s underserved immigrant community has access to health and educational services.
During Amadaversary week, select guests will be surprised with gifts and giveaways from Garces. Sample surprises include complimentary dinners, wine pairings, lunch in Distrito Taqueria’s Volkswagen Bug for four people, Tequila classes, $100 gift certificates, signed copies of Jose Garces’ cookbooks, and more.
Participating restaurants include: Amada, Tinto, Distrito, Garces Trading Company, JG Domestic, The Olde Bar, Village Whiskey and Buena Onda.
Estia Celebrates 10 Years with $39 Chef’s Tasting Menu & $5 Dionysus Cocktails
Saturday, October 17, landmark Greek restaurant Estia will celebrate their 10th Anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the restaurant will hold a weekend-long Chef’s Tasting Menu Celebration, featuring a three-course menu of Greek favorites for just $39 per person, plus festive $5 Dionysus Cocktails all weekend long.
Friday, October 16 until Sunday, October 18, Estia will offer a special three-course anniversary prix fixe menu. The menu will include crowd-pleasing dishes from the restaurant’s 10-year history.
- Choice of Horiatiki Salad, Octopus, Saganaki or Spanakopita
- Choice of Lamb Chops with roasted potatoes, Lavraki, Roasted Chicken or Papoutsakia
- Choice of Baklava or Galactobourico
Reservations are strongly suggested. Guests can also expect live music and other fun entertainment on Saturday, October 17, the actual anniversary date. In addition to their prix fixe menu, Estia will also serve $5 Dionysus Cocktails all weekend long. Named for the Greek god of celebration, the cocktail will include Sparkling Champagne and House-Infused Berry Vodka.
