UPDATE 7/17 – This demonstration has been moved from The Enterprise Center to City Kitchen in the Reading Terminal Market.
Want to learn how to make the fancy, sweet French Macaron? We’ve got good news for you.
A macaron demo and tasting will be hosted by Chloe Johnston, of Chloe Johnston Tours, on Tuesday, July 21, at City Kitchen, Reading Terminal Market’s cooking demo space, 12th & Arch Streets, from 6-8 p.m.

Learn the fine art of French macaron making at this demonstration and tasting, hosted by Chloe Johnston, on July 21st at the Enterprise Center in Philadelphia.
The demonstration will be lead by Abigail Dahan, Head Pastry Chef at Parc in Philadelphia. French born Abigail completed her training at Parisian patisserie Gerard Mulod, later winning first place in the national L’art du Chocolatier Challenge.
In other words, she knows what she’s doing and you will definitely walk away with good macaron-making training. So it’s worth the $45 event fee for that alone.
Along with the macaron demonstration, you will walk away with some delectable French treats and a recipe of your own, all while enjoying wine and champagne and shopping through Chloe’s accessory closet.
I sent some questions to Chloe to learn more.
What prompted Chloe to host this macaron demo and tasting?
We create individually unique experiences that entertain, while offering behind-the-scenes looks with fashion and lifestyle experts. The timing was perfect — we just launched our New York City experiences, and we thought organizing an event domestically and locally would show Philadelphia a piece of what we offer.
What kind of accessory items will be available for attendees to “shop”?
We’re all about thriving in your own style, so we will have Habsa and vintage designer accessories for sale. Habsa has become a great friend of ours in Paris — she was a model who became her own business woman, creating a line of jewelry that is all handmade with a style that is always changing. She has sparkle, leather, metal, zippers, everything. We also pride ourselves in our vintage collection — we work with a vintage expert in Paris who sources the most extraordinary pieces that we then share with our clients.
Are there any tours to France coming soon? How does one book an experience with Chloe?
Booking a tour is as easy as visiting our website or sending an email. On chloejohnston.com we list several of our package experiences, such as our Vintage Treasures, Boutique finds, and other Hidden Secrets of Paris. We also customize experiences for our clients, whether it’s a meeting with a designer to have a piece made, a buttered wine tasting at a private chateau, or a chef prepared meal in his home, to name a few examples. We focus on the unique and different and make sure that the experience exceeds your expectation.
Sounds like fun night out. Grab some of your best girlfriends and go! Again, tickets are on sale online for $45. We’d love to hear about it if you go.
