NetCost Market’s newest Philadelphia location celebrated their Grand Opening on Saturday, June 13. The new market is located at the Blue Grass Plaza, 2417 Welsh Road, in the Northeast section of the city.

NetCost Market, a grocery store specializing in gourmet and foreign foods at low prices, held a Grand Opening Celebration for it’s new store in the Blue Grass Plaza on Welsh Road in Philadelphia on Saturday, June 13.
NetCost Market Philadelphia provides an international gourmet selection of products. With prices even more affordable than other commercial grocers, such as Giant and Whole Foods, these high quality eats are made available to everyone. Food lovers from all cultures can come in and enjoy a unique shopping experience.
NetCost was founded in 1991 by Sam Shnayder in a small Russian community in Brooklyn, New York. It focused on offering high quality, traditional European food to immigrants and locals alike. NetCost quickly expanded into stores, warehouses, and restaurants with locations in Staten Island, Brooklyn and Queens.
There are now two locations in Philadelphia. The first location is at the Leo Mall, 11701 Bustleton Avenue, in the Northeast section of the city.
The ceremonial ribbon cutting was followed by a ravioli eating contest, multiple dance performances, games, raffles, and food tastings. The event attracted food lovers from from all around who had the chance to sample a variety of NetCost Market’s products.
These five brave men participated in the ravioli eating contest with the winner eating an amazing 140 pieces!
The event featured a variety of activities including a performance by ballroom dancers trained in Dancing With the Stars Ballroom Battle winner Allen Genkin’s Beat Dance Studio.
NetCost Market showed off it’s family friendly atmosphere at the event with face paint for kids and a visit from two popular Russian characters Cheburashka and Gena!
Between the great food, live performances, and fun activities the event was a huge success for both NetCost Market and the party goers.
