Beard Papa’s is Chinatown’s newest sweet destination. What started as a small bakery in Osaka, Japan, has grown into a global brand, with its beloved cream puffs now arriving in Philadelphia.
Each cream puff is made with a double-layered choux pastry on the inside and a flaky pie crust on the outside, creating a nice balance of airy and crisp. The filling combines whipped cream and vanilla bean custard cream, spilling out with the first bite. It’s light, not overly sweet, and absolutely irresistible.
There’s plenty to choose from, including the original dusted with powdered sugar and the popular matcha topped with a silky matcha chocolate shell, along with several other options, all filled to order.
