Former Owners of Our Deli in Paoli Open Cool Cats Cafe in Elverson

Cool Cats Cafe opened in September 2022 in Elverson (Chester County) by the Shanaughy family, former owners of the renowned Our Deli in Paoli, which has been open since 1982. The name is a whimsical homage to being cat people.

The new cafe in Darby Square at 4225 Main Street in Elverson specializes in Boars Head cold cuts, homemade soups, specialty sandwiches, and daily specials. Here is a preview of their menu items.

They do not have a website or social media presence at this time, but please do support this new small business if you’re in the area. Open daily from 11 AM to 8 PM. They are on Toast, and their telephone number is (610) 286-0050.

Hope the owner publicly addresses the comments made by Jeannie on the Twin Valley groups. Sheโ€™s left a bad impression and seems to be false representing the restaurant.

Jeannie made a post in our community FB group promoting Cool Catsโ€™ menu and it seemed she was posting on the businessโ€™ behalf since she also posted about hiring and the number to call to apply for jobs. In the comments of the post, someone mentioned liking a well established competitorโ€™s sandwiches more. Jeannie responding by bashing the competitor and insulting the community. The post went off the rails and the immediate reaction by the group was to avoid the restaurant. The group admin ended up taking the post down. The group managed to work on getting the restaurantโ€™s Google reviews back up but Iโ€™m worried sheโ€™s left a lasting bad impression since the cafe isnโ€™t on social media to defend itself.

That is quite unfortunate! However, I must say, I might not have known if it weren’t for her posts on a couple of Main Line FB groups. I learned about the opening from her which inspired me to write about them. Figured they could use some more attention. I like helping small businesses. I hope they get past this bad impression she’s made and have an opportunity to succeed on their own.

She is still causing issues, now on West Vincent site because she is not following the rules. Everyone pretty much said they will avoid the restaurant now.
