The holidays are one of the best times to kick back and enjoy a glass of vino! At Fine Wine & Good Spirits, we have the perfect wine to bring with you as a host gift or to serve when you are entertaining at home. Here are just a few of our favorites:
If you’re prepping a Feast of the Seven Fishes or have been invited to attend one with an Italian friend, then a great wine to pick up is JaM Cellars Butter Chardonnay. It’s so creamy and buttery, and has amazing flavors of baked lemon, pear, peach and apple. It pairs nicely with creamy shrimp bisque or seafood chowder— a staple at every Seven Fishes dinner! This wine is a 2016 Silver Medal Winner at the San Francisco Chronicle International Wine Competition.
If you’re going to a winter grill-out with steaks on the menu or if you’re planning to cook a delicious prime rib for friends, try a bottle of Bodega Ego Infinito Red Jumilla. This Monastrell/Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Spain is full-bodied, dry and shows some serious oak. On the palate, you will taste notes of cinnamon, spice, herbs, mocha and nice ripe tannins. Wine Spectator gave it 91 Points, and this Chairman’s Selection® wine, quoted at $75, is available for less than $20 at most of our Premium Collections stores.
Looking for something sparkling for your holiday celebrations? Grab a bottle of Gratien & Meyer Crémant de Loire Brut Rosé. Made in the Champagne method with a beautifully refreshing palate, it’s creamy and well-balanced with a suggestion of red fruit up front and fine bubbles. This French sparkler is the perfect starter for any meal, and at this price, it’s a steal. Oh, and don’t forget New Year’s Eve!
