Cajun Cuisine Rules as Catahoula Bar & Restaurant Celebrates Five-Year Anniversary With A Revamped Menu
Catahoula Cajun Cuisine Philadelphia
Happy 5th Anniversary Catahoula! Located at 775 S. Front Street in Queen Village

When Catahoula Bar & Restaurant opened its doors in the summer of 2010, the owners knew they were filling a void when it comes to Cajun cuisine. Since its beginning on Front Street, the restaurant has become a destination for authentic New Orleans fare.

“When people want New Orleans inspired food, they come here. They know they’re getting genuine Cajun food”, says owner, Nicki Kaufman.

To celebrate year number five, Catahoula has overhauled its menu all while keeping solid favorites, like shrimp and grits, as well as, gumbo. New menu items include:

  • Alligator meatballs – meatballs made from alligator meat with celery and shallots.
  • “Pastalaya” – This play on jambalaya includes chicken, fettuccini, andouille, tomatoes and Creole seasonings.
  • The “Nola” Burger – made with seasonings like cayenne, paprika, chili powder, onions and mustard aoli.

The established Queen Village neighborhood eatery also offers up various drink options everyday (including the ever popular Hurricanes) and with 10 rotating taps, there’s always a cold, refreshing variety of beer, such as Abita on hand.

For dessert, customers can choose from pecan pie and scrumptious banana foster bread pudding, among others.

Over the past five years, the neighborhood staple has gone through some transformations, including adding a covered side patio and televisions so you can watch the game over a meal, some beers or your favorite cocktail.

Catahoula Bar & Restaurant is located at 775 S. Front Street in Queen Village. For more information on the restaurant, visit www.catahoulaphilly.com or call 215-271-9300.
