The Seafood Shack at La Peg at FringeArts will serve roadside New England favorites outdoors, with live performances and movie nights all summer long!

La Peg at Fringe Arts Movie Nights Will Return!

On Sunday, May 1, La Peg at FringeArts will debut The Seafood Shack, welcoming the warm weather with the return of their gorgeous outdoor patio and bar on the banks of the Delaware River in Old City.

The Seafood Shack is new for 2016, and will serve a casual menu from Chef Peter Woolsey inspired by his childhood summers on the picture-postcard-perfect coast of Maine, with stunning views of the Ben Franklin Bridge from Philadelphia’s own coastline.

The Seafood Shack is a custom-crafted trailer, painted by hand by Chef Woolsey and his brother, graphic designer Ben Woolsey. It will serve a menu of seasonal roadside favorites seven days a week, from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The menu will include summertime classics such as:

Dishes will range in price from $7 to $17, making The Seafood Shack one of the city’s best and most inexpensive spots for a meal outdoors this summer.

The Seafood Shack menu is available outdoors-only, weather permitting; in addition, it is available for private events throughout the summer.

There won’t be table service – you will order at the shack, and the food will be delivered to your table as it is prepared. A communal table was built from a repurposed wall from last year’s outdoor kitchen at La Peg and stools around it were carved from stumps by the La Peg kitchen team.

In addition to The Seafood Shack, The Beer Garden at La Peg will feature a seasonal beverage menu, including:

Throughout the summer, the Beer Garden will host an Outdoor Film Series beginning on Wednesday, May 4.

In addition, FringeArts will continue their tradition of blurring dinner and theater with interactive live performances that push the envelope and engage the audience of diners in new and exciting ways.

All sounds very tasty and like a lot of fun. Can’t wait to try it!
