The event will mark the restaurant’s first collaboration with the new brewery, and will also serve as the debut of their Barolo Cask-Aged Old Ale, an inspired pairing with Brigantessa’s rustic southern Italian fare.
The dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m., with four courses and four pairings served family-style for $65 per person; Brigantessa promises that “pours will be liberal, and the atmosphere convivial!” Space is limited, and reservations are required. The menu will include:
- Antipasto, burrata, pickled cherry tomatoes, caramelized fennel and shaved beets, paired with Patina Saison, a domestic version of the Belgian favorite brewed with yeast for characteristic fruitiness and aroma
- Pizza Napoletana with wild boar sausage, Calabresi chiles, house-made mozzarella, San Marzano tomatoes, eggplant and basil, paired with Delco Lager, a crisp amber lager brewed with premium hops and Delaware County “wudder” for authentic local flavor
- Secondo, braised goat “in pignata” with roasted local potatoes, carrots and cippolini onions, paired with Barolo Cask-Aged Old Ale, an exciting new beer that is aged in wine casks for unusual depth of flavor
- Dolce, Imperial Stout flourless chocolate cake with house-made espresso gelato and candied orange peel, paired with The Russian, Barrar’s signature beer, a rich Imperial Stout perfect for pairing with desserts.
