Harper’s Garden, the beloved Philadelphia restaurant renowned for its vibrant greenhouse settings has appointed Chef Isaac Carter as their new Executive Chef. A seasoned culinary professional with a distinguished career, Chef Carter brings a wealth of experience and creativity to the role.
Chef Isaac, originally from New York and raised in the Boston area, has allowed opportunity and passion to lead his culinary journey from a 12-year stint with Todd English Enterprises to sous chef at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. A graduate of Temple University, Chef Isaac was ready to once again plant roots in Philadelphia at Harper’s Garden where he could create seasonal eloquent meals using the freshest local ingredients.
Issac, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Ithaca College, and Temple University, boasts an impressive culinary pedigree. Chef Isaac’s culinary career took shape during his 12-year tenure with respected restaurateur Todd English at the original Olives in Charlestown, Massachusetts, where his culinary skills and leadership landed him in Las Vegas to oversee Olives at Bellagio, Las Vegas.
Carter opened Eva Longoria’s Las Vegas Beso restaurant and Todd English’s Pub before overseeing the nine restaurants in the museum of Metropolitan Art in New York City. Returning back to his Massachusetts roots, Carter employed a farm-to-table approach at Bull Run, and at Cab & Mermaid he garnered critical acclaim for his seafood-centric dishes that showcased both simplicity and sophistication. His tenure at Bourbon & Bones Chophouse & Bar saw him elevate Southern comfort food with modern twists.
Under Isaac’s leadership, diners at Harper’s Garden are experiencing an exciting evolution of the restaurant menu. His introduction of new signature dishes highlight his national influence while staying true to the restaurant’s commitment to using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Guests have been treated to an enhanced focus on vegetarian and vegan options such as Moroccan Grilled Tofu Skewers, catering to the growing demand for plant-based cuisine.
Chef Isaac’s new dishes specialize in seasonal cuisine, utilizing in-season produce in a plethora of ways offering a sense of sustainability, ensuring any meal being made is as fresh as if you picked it yourself.
