Did you know that National Oyster Day is on Friday, August 5th? The celebration of the delightful saltwater delicacy, a recent favorite of ours, nearly fell off our food holiday radar!
Never fear; here are just a few places to indulge in our fair city.
Enjoy the “Summer Citywide” at Red Owl Tavern in Old City. A dozen oysters and a bottle of sparkling wine for $33 — available from 4:30PM.
Enjoy Oyster Day Happy Hour at Ocean Prime between 4:30-6:30PM featuring $1 east and west coast varieties of oysters. Then enjoy $10 Cucumber gimlets and $10 glasses of Veuve Cliquot + Moet Imperial Whitestar. Both pair perfectly with oysters!
At Pennsylvania 6, enjoy $1 select oysters all night. They will also be serving three traditional oyster dishes including:

Oysters Rockefeller $17 — Parmesan cream, kale, garlic and bacon

Oyster chowder $10 — Potatoes, thyme, garlic, white wine and panchetta

Oyster tartare $21 — Creme fraiche, lemon segments, chives and caviar (6 count)
Not to be outdone by the offerings above, but The Fine Palate will be offering FREE OYSTERS during happy hour. That’s right. FREE OYSTERS. 5-7PM. Pretty hard to beat that, eh?
