When Josh White of Philadelphia’s White + Wong Bakery reached out to ask if I wanted samples of their signature cookies to try, he didn’t have to ask me twice. I like most sweets in general, but cookies are pretty much at the top of the list.
Inside were three cellophane bags of their signature cookies tied nicely with a branded ribbon and sticker on front. Each bag included 4 cookies — Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin and Reverse Chocolate Chip.
I love soft cookies.
The chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin were my immediate favorites. While I’m not the biggest fan of all-chocolate cookies, the reverse chocolate chip were very good, too. But if I had to choose again, I would definitely go for the chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, though.
In addition to the ones I got to sample, they also offer Mint Chocolate Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip and (Everything but the) Kitchen Sink. Also, for fun, you have the option of creating your own from an assortment of dough and mix-in’s.
They proclaim on their website that “our cookies are dangerously good.” This is true if you have no self control and can eat more than 1 in a sitting… like I can easily. 😉
If you’re a fan of cookies, I say give this ambitious bakery start up a try. They work out of a shared kitchen in West Philly and ship via FedEx, but you can find their cookies on the Hub Bub coffee truck around town, too.
Thanks and best of luck to both Josh and Kimberly!
