About Philly Grub

pg-adFounded and curated by food and drink enthusiast and former nightclub DJ Marilyn Johnson in 2008, Philly Grub is a Philadelphia food news, reviews, and scene blog showcasing all that is good about eating and drinking in Philadelphia and South Jersey. It is one of Philadelphia’s longest-running blogs.

Philly Grub shines a bright spotlight on the amazing food and drink to be found in the Delaware Valley and sometimes beyond. We promise no clickbait here, just honest reporting; though you may see a side of occasional wisecracking and witty banter

Philly Grub shares Philadelphia area restaurant news, events and occasionally some reviews. You might also see reviews of food products from local food entrepreneurs or other local food-based stories. From fine dining to fast food, if it has to do with food in the Philadelphia area, we’re on it.

marilyn-grubMarilyn is occasionally a freelance writer.

Marilyn is also a Philadelphia food judge of cooking, baking, and cocktail competitions and Philadelphia marketing & PR consultant for restaurants and food/beverage-based businesses.

Philly Grub has been recognized by the following:

Finally, Marilyn also works a full-time day job, but is open to hearing about full-time, salaried opportunities at food-based companies or the hospitality industry.

Work With Philly Grub!

We LOVE hearing from brands, restaurants, local food entrepreneurs, and PR reps. We especially enjoy attending restaurant previews, media events, press conferences, grand openings, sampling new menus, etc. We’d be absolutely delighted for an invitation to dine at your Philadelphia or South Jersey restaurant and provide a feature on the blog to share with our readers, Twitter followers (18,000+) and Instagram followers (9,000+), and Facebook friends/fans (2,000+). Feel free to add us to your media list for consideration. PLEASE NOTE: We cannot attend events or functions during the business work day (8AM-5PM). Evening and weekend events will be considered.
