Like most of Pennsylvania, restrictions remain in place in Bucks County during the COVID-19 crisis. Many businesses are finding ways to give back to the community during this time. Here’s a list of restaurants offering support to those in need.

❤ Solstice in Newtown, which just opened earlier this month, started a Sunday Supper service for its staff after temporarily closing its doors last Monday due to the county’s COVID-19 advisories. Staff will be able to come by the restaurant where Chef Jason Audette will oversee the preparation of a meal for two for each employee to take home. Pick-ups will be staggered so as to avoid any gatherings within the establishment and only two senior management staff will be on-site to manage the process at a time to ensure the recommended social distancing is still maintained. Furthermore, proceeds from Solstice gift card sales support the program. They can be purchased here or through their website. Solstice’s ownership and management teams hope this will provide a little bit of weekly relief or their employees.

❤ The Mill Street Cantina in Bristol is offering FREE Cantina Cares meal packages that feed a family of four to anyone in need. Call the restaurant at 215-788-0969. Subject to availability. Pick-up or delivery between 3-5 p.m.

❤ OOKA in Doylestown is offering a free lunch special to all hospital doctors, nurses and police officers.

❤ The Pineville Tavern in Pineville is using 100% of all gift card proceeds go benefit its 40 employees who have been out of work during this pandemic. Additionally, a free kid’s meal is offered with every purchase, and customers can choose to keep the kids’ meal or donate it as the restaurant is making weekly donations to Trenton Area Soup Kitchen.

❤ Durham Springs in Kintnersville is offering up its catering kitchen to any group or organization that is preparing food for people in need.

❤ Jason Green of Jay’s Steak & Hoagie Joint in Langhorne held a meeting with his employees this past Sunday and gave them the decision whether or not they wished to remain open for carry-out service only. They decided to close down for two weeks, and all employees will be paid during that time. With the prospect of some food potentially going to waste, Green, who donates to his local food bank every month, decided to donate meat and other items to Parkland Community Church, which is collecting food to help families in need. Additionally, Green is asking his community and customers to donate what they can to ERA Food Pantry and if they do so they will receive $5 in Jay’s Bucks to use when the sandwich shop reopens. On National Cheesesteak Day, Green also delivered cheesesteaks to first responders, truck drivers, and grocery store workers.

❤ Harvest Seasonal in Newtown is offering 10% off all gift card sales to customers and giving 100% of those gift card profits to employees during the shutdown and additional emergency funds to anyone on their team in need.

❤ Carlucci’s Grill in Yardley provided meals to the Middletown Township Police Department on March 17.

❤ Tre Fratelli in Langhorne is offering 20% off its family trays. Additionally, the restaurant is providing groceries to its furloughed employees as well as any families in need in their community.
