Dining Out for the Dogs Returns for Third Year at White Dog Cafe

I’m a big fan of fundraisers for animal causes and also of Fearless Restaurant Group so that’s why I’m posting this information.

The White Dog Cafe and WMMR’s Preston and Steve will host the third annual Dining Out for the Dogs on Monday August 19, 2019 starting at 5pm to raise funds for Alpha Bravo Canine, which provides trained service dogs to U.S military veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other combat-related disabilities.

WMMR, BEN FM, WMGK, WXTU and WIP on-air personalities will be at each of the three White Dog Cafe locations (Wayne Haverford and University City) dining with guests and hosting drawings for prizes including the opportunity for a commissioned 30” by 40” pet portrait (valued at $2650), by artist Jay McClellan, who’s artwork adorns the walls of the White Dog Cafe locations. Raffle tickets for $20 are available now through August 19 at all three locations for the Jay McClellan portrait. The drawing will take place on August 20, 2019 and guests will be notified by email/phone.

There will also be puppy-kissing booths at each location where guests can make a donation to cuddle and kiss one of the Alpha Bravo Canine puppies! Guests can also donate $25 and book a VIP table (very important puppy) where they are guaranteed outdoor seating for the event with their pup (based on availability – at Haverford and U City only).  Guests can enjoy our new signature Barc Echo cocktail with a portion of the proceeds going to Alpha Bravo Canine now through August 20, 2019.

The average cost for a puppy to train is $30,000- $50,000 depending on the disability. Alpha Bravo Canine does not charge veterans for the training or the dog.  White Dog Cafe Owner Marty Grims said, “We are looking forward to again working with Steve and all the on-air personalities who are giving of their time for this fundraiser. We hope the community will come out and dine for this wonderful cause.” Over the past two years, the Dining Out for the Dogs events have raised $50,000.

Guests who cannot attend the event, but that wish to contribute to Dining Out for the Dogs, can make a donation now through August 19 at the White Dog Cafe locations by adding any amount at the bottom of their meal check.

At this year’s event, guests can enjoy a flight of hot dogs for $35 with 100 percent of the proceeds going to Alpha Bravo Canine. The menu includes Coney Island Dog made with Green Meadow farm beef, PA noble cheddar cheese, pickled red onions, the Southwestern Dog that includes Guacamole, chipotle aioli, cotija cheese, crispy tortillas, the White Dog with white truffle aioli, Shellbark Hollow goat cheese, mushroom relish or the Backyard Dog with ketchup, mustard and bbq potato chip crumble.
