What makes this cheesesteak stand out from others is their special house cheese blend which sticks to the meat makes it the perfect bite of cheese and steak. Don’t let the word Pizzeria deter you from this spot, this hidden gem cheesesteak can be found just a few blocks from City Line Avenue. Pro tip: call first to make sure they are open because they have been known to close early for the day.
Leo’s Steak Shop
Located at 1403 Chester Pike in Folcroft, PA, Leo’s Steak Shop is another hidden gem located outside of the city. Family owned and operated since 1974, they proudly boast being the “Home of the 18 Incher” which is the size of their large steak. What stands out here is the delicious high-quality meat they use. It tastes very fresh. They also offer plenty of places to sit outside and eat your delicious cheesesteak, too. If you’re coming from the city, take the 102 Trolley to the Sharon Hill Station and it’s just a block away.

Located at 538 North 4th Street in Northern Liberties, Del Rossi’s Cheesesteak is rarely talked about but has a very tasty and ample cheesesteak that is brought to your table by their friendly staff. Not only are the cheesesteaks made from hand-cut steak daily, but they have pretty good pizza too so be sure to pick up a slice while you’re there.
Located at 108 South 18th Street, Cleavers has finally brought a great cheesesteak to the heart of Center City! Everything about this cheesesteak is good: the roll, the cheese and especially the meat.
