Valente’s Italian Specialties in Haddonfield Now Open

UPDATE: Valente’s is expected to officially open on Saturday, August 18th at with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m. during the Haddonfield Farmer’s Market. They’ll soft open on Thursday, August 16. Vetri-alum Arnab Maitra, of mobile pizza pop-up Pizza Crime, is on board to help with baking while Jamie Png of DiBruno Bros. will be assisting with curating cheese selections.

Valente’s Italian Specialities announced that they will be opening a brick and mortar retail store in downtown Haddonfield, NJ. Proprietor Marcello De Feo expects a late spring opening for the specialty food store located at 7 Kings Court in the heart of the downtown area.

The store will offer freshly prepared grab-and-go meals that will be available for pick up or delivered through GrubHub. They will have staple items and a carefully curated selection of imported and locally-made cheeses, meats, breads, and more that will be available year-round. The menu will change regularly and be curated based on seasonal and locally available ingredients.

They’ll be working directly with local farmers and food producers, as well as reputable importers to provide the best and freshest food products. There will also be a selection of frozen items for sale for those who just want to put something away for a rainy day.

The goal is to fill the shelves with products that customers want and will keep coming back for. Products you might not find anywhere else.

The new store will also serve as a commissary kitchen that will allow them to expand their catering operations for both private and corporate events.

They will continue to offer handmade food products at local farmers markets such as Rittenhouse Square Farmers Market this year.

Stay tuned for more details!

  1. Can H’field handle so many Italian sandwich shops? Passariello’s just opened up there, and there are three others that I can think of that have been there for years. Is there enough daytime traffic?

    • From what I understand, this is different than your typical sandwich shop. It’s going to be more like a market with prepared foods, not a restaurant. I guess a bit like Ludovico’s, but sorta more like DiBruno Bros. in Philly.
