This January, Yards Brewing Company invites fans to join them at their new taproom and brewery at 500 Spring Garden Street for their “Philly” Wings.
The tempting new take on a classic chicken wing, created by Chef James Burke, boasts a “Philly” twist: the sauce is made from traditional Italian long hots – a green-colored staple in South Philadelphia and beyond – and the perfect snack to munch on while watching playoff football in the frigid winter months.
“We bleed green in Philly, and as Philly’s brewery, we had to have a green sauce for our wings,” says Founder and Brewmaster (and longtime season-ticket holder) Tom Kehoe. “The Yards’ crew is psyched that the road to the big game goes through our backyard. Go Birds!”
Yards’ signature wings are coated in a tangy sauce, made from long-hot peppers that are smoked slow and low to build a deep savory and slightly smoky flavor. The crave-able appetizers are served with a cooling side of bleu cheese dressing and pair well with a citrusy and refreshing Philly Pale Ale. The new Yards Brewery and Taproom is open for all playoff games.
