Hawthornes Beer Cafe celebrates the return of fall with the 2nd Annual Great Cider and Beer Festival on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from Noon to 8:00pm. With the crisp, cool air moving in, Hawthornes will close down 11th Street from Fitzwater to Catherine, and showcase over 50+ seasonal beers, new and favorite ciders, barrel-aged rarities and wine selections pouring for only five dollars each.

New for 2017, look for a full line-up of Philadelphia’s top food trucks to serve warm comfort food for one of the final outdoor festivals of the fall season. On top of food and drink, enjoy live music, entertainment, vendors, shopping and free family fun! The event is free and open to the public, and rain or shine. Food and drink is pay-as-you-go, cash only. The event is family and pet-friendly.

Live music and entertainment includes The John McNutt Trio (Noon to 3:00pm) with their classic, no-frills, straightforward rock and roll. DJ Christophonic (3:00pm to 4:30pm) will also be back spinning all the favorites and mashups from every genre, every era, and every planet. Hawthornes also introduces Philadelphia’s own Mass Folk Commons (4:30pm to 7:30pm) will close out this year’s festival. Their high-energy brand includes folk, punk, bluegrass and Celtic rock.

For the kids, enjoy family fun in the Kids’ Zone – perfect for young families who want to make it a day in South Philly. Activities will include inflatable slides, face painting, giant bubble wand, other bubble fun, chalk fun, bean bag toss, and more. For kids and adults, Hawthornes will debut a giant Velcro wall for the event.

Guests will be required to show valid I.D. upon FREE entry at 11th and Fitzwater and receive a wristband. The beer sales are handled exclusively at the entrance (at 11th & Fitz) where the guest will purchase any amount of drink tickets for $5 per ticket, no minimum, no limit. Then the guests are free to redeem each ticket at any beer station to receive the beer of their choice.

The event is open to all ages, 21 and older to drink. Dogs welcome too! Rain or shine. Admission is free. All drinks and food are pay-as-you-go. Cash only.
