Cannstatter Volksfest-Verein, famous for its Labor Day Weekend Oktoberfest, announces its inaugural Maifest spring festival on Saturday, May 20 from 12:00 to 6:00 PM at its campus in Northeast Philly. Do we really need a reason to get together and drink beer? NO, but it’s still fun! 🙂
In Germany, Maifest is the unofficial start of the Biergarten and festival season and the Cannstatter will be celebrating it in spades!
In addition to German and domestic beers on tap, visitors will enjoy burgers, brats, schnitzel and more from the grill.
Competitive folk can win prizes in beer stein holding and barrel throwing games of strength.
Music will be provided by polka-funk band Polkadelphia and GTV Almrausch will entertain with their Schuhplattler dancing.
Vendors will showcase local crafts and imported gift items.
The expansive 5-acre park features a safe playground for the kids.
The Cannstatter is conveniently located just off the Academy Road exit of I95 in N.E. Philadelphia. They offer free parking in their large secure lot and are easily accessible on public transportation.
